Work Life, Social Life, Gym Life, Sleep… Which One Do You Prefer? Can You Actually Have it All?

There are 4 things that you NEED in your life:
Time for the people you care about
Time to work on your career/ school
Time to sleep
Time for your interest/ hobby

Based on my experience though, sadly, you can only focus on 3 things in life…

I USED to choose:
Time to work on my school
Time to sleep
Time to exercise (my hobby)
…so I didn’t have a social life

That is how I actually got fit. Like I said on my previous post, I literally didn’t go out with my friends, I didn’t eat out. I was very antisocial. I turned down every invitation in college. Once I let myself slip, I ended up gaining 20 kgs.

I started to evaluate what happened before and now I’m trying to fit everything in my life:
Time to work on my career
Time to exercise
Time for the people I care about
With average of 4 hours of sleep each day

Here’s what a day in my life looks like

Wake up at 4am to get ready, leave at 4.45am to Bengkel CrossFit, and start training at 5.30am. Finish training at 6.30am and have to be at the office at 7.30am. Then I get home around 8.30pm (if I don’t see my friends first for dinner), cook from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, eat my dinner at 9.30 to 10pm, and then sleep around 11pm or 11.30pm, and REPEAT.

You know creating this blog is a two way street for me. While this post might have the same takeaway from my previous post, sometimes writing out blogs for you guys becomes a reminder for me that life is much more than just being so strict and staying healthy at all time. We all obviously want that. But sometimes, we just need to prioritize different things at different times.

This post does not mean that I’m saying it’s okay to gain weight. It’s okay to eat unhealthy foods sometimes. Hence these pictures..

But what I’m trying to say is, life is too short! Enjoy the occasional cheat meal, enjoy your time with your friends, work towards your goals. I always believe that you can’t really have everything in life. DUH. We’re human!

Yes, I used to be 140kg, then I used to be 64kg. Yes, I used to train 2 times a day and 10 to 12 times a week.
And yes, now I gained 20kg and I train less than 5 times a week. Life won’t be as what you expected.

But what you have to do is set your priorities and give it your best shot. Yes, you might gain more weight but you also gain more experiences and knowledge about your career and happiness. At the end of the day, we know we are always trying our best. You don’t have to prove it to anyone but yourself. SELF LOVE FOR THE WIN!
