#LITerallyEasy: Bulletproof Coffee-ish

I am dead in the mornings, like, DEAD.

I get crazy busy on the weekdays, I wake up at 6 AM in the morning, get to work by 8 AM and usually finish around 5 or 6 PM. Then if I’m not teaching, I usually am either running into a meeting, trying to fit in a workout ..or trying to have a social life. Ha. Same goes for the weekend, I usually teach on Saturday mornings and try to run errands that I can’t on the weekdays.

I’m not complaining though, I love my jobs and I am quite the active one.
I feel “unaccomplished” if I’m not constantly doing something.
The key not to turn into a grumpy monster from it all? Morning coffee. I’m pretty sure I’m made more of coffee than water or blood. However, recently I’ve realized that just coffee alone isn’t cutting it for me. I need something more.

So I googled “Bulletproof Coffee”

You can find the original Bulletproof Coffee recipe here, but I’ve tweaked mine a little.

Here is my Iced Bulletproof Coffee-ish!

What you need:
– Coffee
– Ice
– 1-2 tablespoon of unsalted butter
– 1 tablespoon of chocolate protein powder
– Wake up earlier in the morning

I ditched the Brain Octane Oil that they use because honestly, I just don’t know where to find them. So if any of you reading this knows where I could get a good one,

Here’s how I make mine,

I put the coffee and the unsalted butter into the blender.
Blend them together until it looks foamy.

Then I’ll add the chocolate protein powder, then blend them all together.
Put it into a cup with ice. …And, TA-DAAA!

It really is that easy to make and it keeps me pretty full until lunch time.

The benefits of it?
Well according to what they say it helps with things like suppressing hunger and mental clarity. I have yet to get a mental clarity through food or drinks, but hey maybe I really do need to get my hands on the Brain Octane Oil huh?

What I find works though?

Lawd knows I need this, especially in the morning when I’m in my half-sloth-half-human state. The saturated fat in the unsalted butter slows the absorption of caffeine which supplies long-lasting energy minus the caffeine spikes and crashes. I’m pretty sure I was sold after I read this reason and this reason alone will be enough for me.

What do you guys think of the Bulletproof Coffee?
Have you tried it? Does it work for you?
I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

Until next time, loves.

Stay LIT, stay FIT.
